As a shuttle driver, you are the first part of our tour for many of our guests. Your primary responsibility is it to ensure timely pick up and drop off of guests and to socialize with them about their trip to Alaska. It is also your responsibility to pick up necessary supplies for the office, kennel, or glacier camp, and to assist in the smooth running of tours. When not providing shuttles, the driver is expected to help in the office by answering phones or assisting guests in and out of the helicopter or to help market our tours by restocking brochures and engaging in direct sales.
Shuttle Driver Responsibilities:
- Pick up and drop off guests on time
- Maintain contact with office and guests if running late
- Help Guests in and out of shuttle
- Talk with guests
- Pick up necessary glacier, including water and fuel and ensure they get loaded into the helicopter
- Help office staff when not on shuttle runs
- Maintain Brochures Around Town
- Actively Help Sell Tour at Train Depot and Cruise Ship Terminal
Shuttle Driver Job Requirements
- Driver’s License
- Clean Driving Record
- Experience Working with the Public
- Strong Social Skills
Physical Requirements For The Shuttle Driver
Ability to carry 5-gallons of fuel and lift it in and out of shuttle van. Although not a labor intensive job, some strength is required. Shuttle drivers may also have to move 50lbs bags of dog food and 7 gallon jugs of water.
